Terms and Conditions

 

Purchasing of goods and services from Elegant Interiors and Designs “EI&D” is governed by below terms and conditions as well as policies. EI&D acknowledges our responsibility towards our customers and we undertake to be honest and sincere in the services we render. The purpose of these terms and conditions is to prevent any misunderstandings that may compromise the relationship between EI&D and its customers.

  1. FEES

 

    • An order is only processed and put into production on receipt of a minimum of 60% deposit on the total value of the order.
    • EI&D accepts special orders where the customer requests items that are not in our catalogue but within our scope, these special orders may not be cancelled once they have been put into production. Special orders also applies to requests of unique measurements and design of furniture pieces in our current catalogue.
    • Goods must be paid in full prior to delivery or collection.
    •    Goods remain the property of EI&D until payment is received in full and confirmed by EI&D.  

 

  1. LAY BUYS

 

    • EI&D offers lay bye service for a maximum period of 4 months. A monthly surcharge of 3.5% of the total lay-buy purchase value will apply if the lay-buy is not completed within the 4-month period.
    • Payments towards lay-buy can be made via EFT into EI&D banking account; alternatively card payment can be made at our EI&D showroom.
    • All payments should indicate the reference number as indicated on the original lay-bye document provided.
    • Goods purchased at a higher price than promotional price will not be subject to a discount.

 

  1. RETURNS / EXCHANGES
    • We have a 72 hours return policy, which means the customer must contact us via email on info@einteriorsanddesigns.co.za within 72 hours of receiving the items to discuss further steps.
    • To be eligible for a return, the items must be unused and in the original condition.
    • No returns and/or exchanges will be considered without the original proof of purchase.
    • Clearance sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.
    • Custom (special) order items cannot be returned, unless they are defective.
    • Goods returned for whatsoever reason will only be subject to repair and/or an exchange item.

 

  1. DELIVERY AND OWNERSHIP
    • Delivery costs will be charged separately based on the delivery destination from our depot to the delivery address.
    • Lead time for custom made items is estimated at 4-6 weeks following the minimum of 60% deposit payment of goods; however EI&D does not accept any liability for damages which may be suffered as a result of a delay with such delivery. All other items have a lead time of 7-10 working days.
    • Customer collection of goods is welcomed, however EI&D will not be held liable for any damages that might occur for the goods in transit and incorrect assembly of goods. The customer will be requested to inspect the items upon collection and sign for acceptance of goods in good condition.
    • Ownership of goods passes to the purchaser on signature of the delivery note document.

 

  1. WARRANTY
    • EI&D offers warranty on workmanship of all furniture for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery of goods, we will not be held liable for damages that may be suffered by the customer as a result of normal wear and tear as well as negligent use of product.
    • EI&D takes pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our glass furniture. However, please be aware that due to the nature of glass products, we are unable to offer a warranty on any breakable items. We recommend handling all glass items with care to ensure their longevity.
    • EI&D always conducts business in good faith and will ensure that that the products bought, including all fabric, wood, metal products corresponds as closely as possible to the sample shown on our website, slight differences may occur due to picture resolution.
    • Customers should always refer to the specification details of all products for reference. No responsibility can be accepted by EI&D for variants which are due to the unique characteristics of each product.

 

  1. UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
    • If by reason of unforeseen circumstances and/or force majeure, either party hereto shall be rendered unable wholly or in part to carry out its obligations, then such party shall give notice and full particulars of such unforeseen circumstance in writing to the other party within a reasonable time after occurrence of the event or cause relied upon.
    • Following which the obligation of the party giving such notice so far as it is affected by such circumstances shall be suspended during the continuance of the inability then claimed.

 

  1. CANCELLATION
    • EI&D reserves the right to cancel an order.
    • Special orders may not be cancelled once they have been put into production.
    • 30% handling fee of the total purchase price will be charged on all cancelled orders.
