Purchasing of goods and services from Elegant Interiors and Designs ("EI&D") is
governed by the terms and conditions below, together with our applicable policies.
EI&D acknowledges its responsibility towards its customers and undertakes to
provide honest, professional and quality service. The purpose of these terms and
conditions is to establish clear expectations and prevent misunderstandings that may
compromise the relationship between EI&D and its customers.
- FEES
- An order is only processed and put into production upon receipt of a minimum
deposit of 60% of the total order value. - By accepting the quotation and paying the required deposit, the customer
confirms that all dimensions, finishes, fabrics, colours, materials and product
specifications have been checked and approved. - EI&D accepts special orders where the customer requests items that are not
in our catalogue but fall within our scope of work. Special orders also include
custom sizes, customised designs and modifications to furniture in our
existing catalogue. - Once production has commenced, special orders may not be cancelled.
Changes to the design, dimensions, fabrics, finishes or specifications after
production has started may not be possible. Where such changes are
accepted, additional charges and revised lead times may apply. - Goods must be paid in full prior to delivery or collection.
- The outstanding balance must be paid in full and reflect in EI&D's bank
account before delivery or collection. - Goods remain the property of EI&D until payment has been received in full
and confirmed by EI&D.
- LAY BUYS
- EI&D offers a lay-buy service for a maximum period of four (4) months.
- A monthly surcharge of 3.5% of the total lay-buy purchase value will apply if
the lay-buy is not completed within the four-month period. - Payments towards lay-buy may be made via EFT into EI&D's banking account
or by card at the EI&D showroom. - All payments must indicate the reference number provided on the original lay-
buy documentation. - Goods purchased prior to a promotional period will not qualify for promotional
discounts.
- RETURNS / EXCHANGES
- EI&D has a 72-hour return policy from the date of delivery or collection.
Customers must notify EI&D via email at info@einteriorsanddesigns.co.za or
via the official WhatsApp line within 72 hours to report any concerns. - Customers are required to inspect all goods upon delivery or collection. Any
visible defects, shortages or damages must be reported within the 72-hour
period. - To qualify for a return or exchange, the goods must be unused and in their
original condition. - No returns or exchanges will be considered without the original proof of
purchase. - Clearance sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.
- Custom-made or special-order items cannot be returned unless they are
found to have a manufacturing defect covered by warranty. - Goods returned for any reason will be subject to repair or replacement at
El&D’s discretion.
- DELIVERY AND OWNERSHIP
- Delivery charges are quoted separately and are based on the delivery
destination from EI&D's premises to the delivery address. - The standard production lead time for custom-made furniture is 4–6 weeks,
calculated from the date the required deposit has been received and all order
specifications have been approved. - Lead times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Production schedules
may be affected by the complexity of the order, material availability, supplier
lead times, public holidays, power interruptions, transport delays or other
circumstances beyond EI&D's reasonable control. Customers will be informed
should any significant delays occur. - Customer collection of goods is welcomed. Customers are required to inspect
the goods before accepting collection. EI&D will not be held liable for
damages occurring during transportation arranged by the customer or for
incorrect assembly after collection. - Completed goods should be collected within seven (7) days after the
customer has been notified that the order is ready. EI&D reserves the right to
charge reasonable storage fees for goods not collected within this period. - Ownership of the goods remains with EI&D until full payment has been
received. Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon collection or
delivery, whichever occurs first.
- WARRANTY
- EI&D warrants the workmanship of all furniture for a period of twelve (12)
months from the date of delivery or collection. - This warranty covers manufacturing and workmanship defects only. It
excludes damage resulting from normal wear and tear, misuse, negligence,
accidents, improper cleaning methods, excessive weight, pets, exposure to
moisture, direct sunlight or any modification made after delivery. - EI&D takes pride in the quality and craftsmanship of its glass furniture. Due to
the nature of glass products, no warranty is provided against breakage. - EI&D will ensure that products, including fabrics, timber, metal and other
materials, correspond as closely as reasonably possible to approved samples
or images. - Due to natural variations in timber, leather, fabric dye lots and other materials,
slight differences in colour, grain, texture and finish may occur. These
variations are inherent to the materials used and shall not be regarded as
defects. - Customers should always refer to the product specifications before placing an
order. EI&D accepts no responsibility for natural variations inherent in the
materials used.
- UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
- If, due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, either party is unable,
wholly or partially, to fulfil its obligations, that party shall notify the other party
in writing within a reasonable time of becoming aware of the event. - The affected obligations shall be suspended for the duration of the unforeseen
circumstances until performance becomes reasonably possible.
- CANCELLATION
- EI&D reserves the right to cancel an order where necessary.
- Special orders may not be cancelled once production has commenced.
- A handling fee equal to 30% of the total purchase price will be charged on all
approved cancellations.
